Seillans is classified as one of France’s most beautiful villages of quality heritage and offers a number of excellent restaurants and several art galleries of interest. The nearby village of Fayence also has its share of fine dining, as well as a quaint local market three times a week. Market finds include local pottery and fabrics and delectable fresh produce, meats, cheeses and various local specialties. You will find many other such markets, as well as larger traditional Provencal markets, throughout the region. Local vineyards produce the well-known Cote de Provence and offer visits for wine enthusiasts. The area is also home to many open-air festivals during the summer months.
Local activities include tennis, horseback riding, golf, hiking, whitewater rafting, paddle boating and canoeing. The famous coastland towns of Cannes, Antibes, Grasse, Nice and Saint Tropez are all very close by and worth a visit. Monaco is only about an hour and a half away. The rapids of the Gorges du Verdon are located only one hour north of Seillans and there are several beautiful mountain villages nearby. The large lake of Saint Cassien is only 20 minutes away with its splendid picnic sites, paddle boats, canoes and pedalo-hire. To view the Cote d'Azur and Esterel mountains from above, visit the Gliding Club in Fayence! The region is known as one of the best European sites for gliding.
Golfing :
An ideal area for golfing, many golf courses can be reached within one hour by car. The nearest courses are the two new courses at the Terre Blanche (only a 15-minute drive from the villa). From the course there are fantastic views toward the villages, with the mountains in the background. Terre Blanche includes a Four Season Resort Hotel, where you may wish to visit their fabulous restaurant Le Faventia, which proudly holds two Michelin stars.
